Scorching heat greets the BAGS Tour at Midland for the first round of the matchplay showdown

Midland, On., July 5, 2010 –The players coped with extremely hot conditions during for the first round of theBAGS Junior Tour’s matchplay showdows. The highlight of the day was an exciting playoff in the Bantam division between Midhurst’s Brady Zordan and Wasaga Beaches’ Matthieu Orr. Zordan triumphed with a great up and down on the third extra hole to take the match. Others advancing on to the next round are Simran Dhatt-Gauthier (Sudbury) and Aidan Maltby (Midhurst) in the Minor Bantam Division; Joining Zordan in round 2 of the Bantam division are Mathew Suarez (Singhampton), Jordi Walker (Sudbury) and Brenden Sharpe (Rockwood);  TJ Gillespie (Hepworth), Branson Ferrier (Barrie), Mitch Macleod (Shanty Bay) and Remington Fielding (Gravenhurst) in the Juvenile section; and Junior’s Greg Brown (Clarksburg) and Thomas Scott (Holland Landing).

The BAGS Junior Golf Tour plays 14 stroke play events at a variety of golf courses across the Georgian Bay region. The tour will also be hosting a match play series and participating in several team events.
