BAGS Tour Awards Order of Merit
Collingwood, ON, August 25, 2008—Nearly 70 players turned out for the final race to lead the Order of Merit at The BAGS Junior Golf Tour's last regular event of the season at Oslerbrook G&CC.
Colton Kalkanis of Hillsdale lead the points in the highly competitive Juvenile Division (14-16 years) with 415.5. Kalkanis was last year's leader in the Bantam Division (12-13 years). Midhurst's Luke Baylis was runner-up in the Juveniles with 370 points, followed by Mike Dart of Toronto with 327.5 points. Zack Secord of Midland was this year's overall winner in the Bantam category with 670 points. Simon Lycklama of Newmarket earned second spot with 570 points. Mitch Hooper of Midhurst placed third with 525 points. Thornbury's Jordan Sample tallied 702.5 points to win the Junior Division (17-18 years). Collingwood's Frankie Giacomelli was runner-up with 497.5 points, followed by Griffin Salen of Tobermory with 490. Nico Gagliardi of Chatsworth earned the title in The Minor Bantam Boys Division (11 and under) with 877.5 points. Coniston's Jordi Walker totaled 715.5 points for second. Matthieu Orr of Wasaga Beach placed third with 605.5 points.
Alina Rogers of Richmond Hill clinched the Girls Division (14-18 years) by a mere two points, tallying 477 to Jenna Turgeon of Barrie's 475. Deanna Tyndall of Barrie placed third with 442. Corinne Grans-Wood of Barrie won the Bantam Girls Division (12-13 years) with 550 points. Hayley Masters, also of Barrie, placed second with 517.5. Skylar Turkiewicz of Orillia placed third with 507.5. Sonia Nagindas of Brampton and Daniella Hopper of Barrie competed in the Minor Bantam Girls (11 and under), with Nagindas earning 185 points and Hopper earning 85.
