Barrie Country Club, Caledon Country Club and The Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay to play host to inaugural BAGS Junior Tour Match Play Championship Series
(Wasaga Beach, On) - The BAGS Junior Tour is please to announce that a match play championship series will be added to the 2009 tournament schedule. Barrie Country Club, Caledon Country Club and The Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay will play host to the quarter final, semi-final and final rounds of the tour’s inaugural match play championship. The qualification tournament will take place at Harbour View G&CC where top finishers in each age category will earn a position in the championships quarter final round.

About the BAGS Junior Tour: Founded in 1994, the BAGS Junior Tour is a development tour designed to introduce junior golfers between the ages of 10 and 18 to a competitive tournament environment. Juniors are given the opportunity to develop their skills under tournament conditions while at the same time making new friends and having fun. The tour runs from late May through the summer months and consists of 12 medal play tournaments, a champion’s event and a match play series. Members vie for individual event and a season long order of merit awards.

The Barrie Country Club: The Barrie Country Club is a member owned, private golf club on the north edge of Barrie nestled next to Little Lake. The club was incorporated in 1913 and has been an institution in Barrie since that time. The course is renowned for being well conditioned and a fair and excellent test of golf. The Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay: Located in Tornbury Ontario, The Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay drifts along the Nippising Ridge overlooking Georgian Bay. The site played host to the 2007 Telus Skins Game and is currently a co-host to the Nationwide Tours` Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic. Co-designed by PGA Professional Tom Lehman and Canada’s own Thomas McBroom Lora Bay is playable from 5095 yards to 7105 yards with six sets of tee blocks and the slope ranges from 140 to 122.
